CRITIQUES FEATURE! !

Movie Title: Memoirs of a Geisha
Genres: Drama and Romance
Distributors: DreamWorks SKG, Sony Pictures Releasing
Starring: Ziyi Zhang, Ken Watanabe, Gong Li, Michelle Yeoh, Youki Kudoh
Directed by: Rob Marshall
Produced by: Patty Whitcher, Bobby Cohen, Roger Birnbaum

What>? Well if you read the novel.. it's quite a long run with lots of slow and super slow events going round the book. But the movie.. heh.. missed quite a lot of parts but still.. it's a okie movie to me. The intro, you'll know how little Chiyo and her sister Satsu were sold to some weird guy, both separated in different areas of Kyoto. Then there's this 'bi***' who's also in the same house as Chiyo, always putting blame on her.. bully her and all that.. Then there's Hatsumomo, (Michelle Yeoh) who trains Chiyo to be a 'Geisha' (if you wanna know the connection between both the person then i suggest you to watch it because it might be a bit hard to explain) Then Chiyo becomes Sayuri... then find her truelove.. (not too interesting here). I can tell you the most interesting part is 'what geishas actually do and how they do it'. Serious, looking at the world from a geisha's view is totally different.. if you're some prostitude then your world will be like a 'fishmarket'. No matter how it stinks or dirty, you gotta have fish in it. If you're a student then you might imagine your world as some battlefield for exams for something similar. As for geishas, they're totally different. To them, the world is a big sheet of paper, and it is up to them to paint on it. hm.. i might be crapping too much just watch the movie alright?? "Geishas are artists not prostitudes.."

Fast Facts: The movie might suggest only over 18 teens to watch but be aware that THERE IS NO EXPOSURE of any 'private parts' in the movie. it's nothing! trust me... Again, Ziyi Zhang looks too chinese... they should ask some japanese actress in it.. and yeah sometimes geisha is known as 'geiko' while kimono as 'obebe'.

Suitable for: Whoever that really misses cherry blossoms and loves to wear white make-ups!

Rating: I'm generous today so it's a 7.20 outta 10

It's not too long before they discovered that not only Kong is real, he lives in a jungle where prehistoric creatures have been protected and hidden away for many years. Talking about weird black (*over sun-burned*) people.. offering sacrigices to the King, Kong!
Jo Facts: Love.. this movie reminds me of Godzilla.. i like Godzilla better... rather than this monkey faced monster.. Kong's cute when he's angry. don't you think???

Fast Fact: Peter Jackson's King Kong costs US$207 million and runs for three damn hours compared to the 1933 original, which ran half as long and cost about US$650,000 (or US$ 8.8 million in today's dollar)

An evil witch casted a perpetual winter over the land and turns everyone who disobeys er into stone.. then there's the stupid prophecy. bla bla.. >.<>

Jo Facts: This is an interesting comedy , family size of course.. but still i think the first one is a whole lot better than the 2nd one.. more fun, more stunts, more ACTION! The second one is like.. love, eeky love and really gross labor pain.. and owh yeah.. love! no Ashton kutcher! Drats!

Fast Facts: The movie is inspired by the real-life story of Gilbreth family who had six boys and six girls.. Phew!
Suitable for: Young couples who underplay the importance of contraception and plan to have 12 kids.
Rating: A loving, 5.8 outta 10.

Unfortunately for her, things get dangerous fast as she finds herself trapped in a world of intrigue and in more trouble than she bargained for. Lots of fun and cool gadgets!
Jo Facts: This is like the revelation of Matrix.. Much better! I'm not a Matrix fan but i am an Aeon-Flux_Fan.. count me in! This movie is a lto of talking at first but action speaks it all in the end.. U gotta know how the future government is working.. check this out! i recommend it to those who hasn't really plan their future.....

Fast Facts: Charlize insisted on changing her wardrobe to include trousers when she saw that all the superheroin wore was a skimpy bikini, thigh-high boots and shoulder pads. Darn!

While making their escape, they are cornered by the Duke of the North (Nicholas Tse) who promises to release the princess if the slave throws himself over the waterfall. What the Duke doesn't expect is, the slave survives and returns to free the imprisoned princess from her gilded birdcage.
Jo Facts: The cage is kinda cool.. wanna watch.. borrow DVD from me.. >.<... another tragic.. more like ironic love story.. Typical.. if all women are like Cecilia.. all the men would suffer more.. how useless of her.. swt...

Fast Facts: Even though Cecilia Cheung had to star opposite ex-bf, Nicholas, it was Korean actor Jang Dong-Gun who made her weak-kneed. "He's still killing all the women. i won't look into his eyes so closely, otherwise i can't help myself.." Ahem*
Suitable for: Screaming female fans of Nicholas and Jang Dong-Gun
Rating; hmm... i think it's a 6.1 out of 10
